Year of the Dragon (LE 2024)

Davidoff’s twelfth Zodiac drop arrives with the scale and swagger a Dragon deserves.

Rolled in a double-corona format, the Year of the Dragon blended with eight tobaccos whose combined age clocks in at 60 years, a nod to the lunar-cycle birthday of anyone born in 1964, the previous Year of the Dragon. Up top sits a silky Ecuadorian wrapper; beneath it, a Dominican binder corrals long-fillers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Light the uncut foot and you’re greeted by roasted nuts and a wisp of cedar. The first third settles into honeyed graham and baking-spice warmth; midway, dark-chocolate richness and a hint of dried fruit glide in; the finale closes on velvety earth and a pepper flick that never overpowers. Medium in strength but lavish in nuance, the smoke stays Davidoff-smooth while the Dragon quietly breathes fire.
